Wow, I had no idea that that was the meaning of the song. I could only understand one line: "Koyoi wa MORARU no soushiki da". So thank you. I'm even more impressed by the song now!

Good review!
Angie never stop surprising us! I really love this new album, I think she's been experimenting through new ways without leaving his own style, and the result is really good.

Some tracks like TODAY or Otome-gokoro sound quite harder than Angela's past compositions, and MORAL no Soushiki is now the far far best Angela's song. Not only because of the crashing music and arrangements, the Lyrics are breathtaking!

I guess you're not familliar with japanese, so I'll make you a little resume:

the Lyrics of MORAL no Soushiki follow the same style as Uchuu.
There are some metaphorical characters whose history is told. in this song, each character has the name of a quality or a feeling (Love, Ideal, MORAL, Philosophy, Pride, Innocence, Reason, Truth) And they're all attending to a Funeral.

MORAL, Reason's son, is dead. The wind warns to every lake, every tree, every star, and they all cry (well, stars throw stardust in the sky, the trees shout between the forests...) and everyone attends to the funeral.

"Koyoi wa MORAL no Soushiki da, Pater Noster"
"This evening is the MORAL's Funeral, pater noster"

There, "people" sit (love and philosophy in the front, discipline and pride in the back...) and innocence stands up to offer a white rose to the casket. Then Reason stands up and start talking (that's when the song stops and turn into a ballad)

She says that the loss of his son is still confusing his heart, but she's sure that moral is still somewhere, lighting us up like a lighthouse, when we're lost, when we don't know the way.

Everyone stand up and applause as a tear falls from Reason's eyes. Inside the tear, Truth tells that she has lost a son called Hope, but she also knows that when we're all hopeless there's something that make everyone carry on. That's why Hope and Moral will be still living inside each one's heart.

Angela's message is about religion. Actually, Angie is a Christian Believer, and she wants to tell that even if we don't believe in the Father, he will be lighting us up forever, come what may.

I'm really proud of Angela Aki with this song.

(Sorry for my foreign english, I've done the best I could)

See you, Angie Forever!

hey Tom thx for the review(I got the link from facebook), one of the most in-depth review I've seen so far on TODAY and you actually mentioned lots of positive aspects of the album while not trying to be biased towards the album.
